Step By Step Booking Process

All communication between EDA and delegates is by email. Delegates should not contact Homerton College for any information.  All contact about the Summer School should be through the EDA e-mail addresses.

Step 1

Complete the booking form and send

  • email - edasummerschool@gmail.com (please note new address this year)
  • post to EDA Summer School, PO Box 407, Keighley, BD20 5WN. U.K.
  • fax +44 (0) 1535 606032

Each course has a maximum number. Once this maximum number is reached, places will be refused and no further places can be allocated.  Applicants can be placed on a ‘waiting list’ in case places become available.

The booking form is available to download in

  • word format
  • pdf format

Step 2

Arrange for payment. A definite place will only be confirmed once full payment or cleared funds are received into the EDA account.

Bank transfer: ensure that the transfer states your name or your school name. Without this information the payment cannot be traced and delays all further processing and confirmation of place.

Cheque: send to the PO Box on the application form. If you know in advance that you are using a courier service and the cheque will need to be signed for in the UK, please email edaenquiries@btinternet.com for an address for the cheque to be sent to.

Step 3

As soon as EDA has received your payment we will send you:

  • Booking confirmation receipt
  • Joining letter
  • Course description and timetable
  • If you require a visa we will also send a letter for the visa office to support your application.

Applying for a visa

Step 4

You apply for a student visitor or visitor visa immediately - more information about this can be found here.

In order to speed up the visa process, it is much quicker to apply for visas as a group from your school rather than as individual applicants.

Step 5

You notify edaenquiries@btinternet.com immediately of the result of your visa application as soon as you receive it. EDA is required to know which delegates have a visa and will be entering the UK.

Any delegate who is granted a visa but who subsequently does not attend EDA will be reported to the UK Border Agency immediately. EDA is also required to report to the UK Border Agency if you do not attend the full course.

Step 6

If your visa application is not successful EDA are only able to refund your course fee (minus £150 administration fee) if we receive notification before 31st May 2009. Any subsequent notification will not result in fees being refunded.

If you choose to book and pay after 31st May 2010 and require a visa to enter the UK you do so at your own risk as payment CANNOT be refunded if your visa is subsequently denied.

Please note:
The Directors publish the EDA booking process annually on the EDA website to take account of changing requirements of the organisation and the UK Border Agency.

The Directors reserve the right to refuse to accept a booking from any individual or organisation and are not required to give a reason for this. This type of refusal could be linked to:

  • Evidence of a non reputable organisation;
  • An individual or organisation who has not settled an invoice in the past
  • Any other reason.
